New Memorial - Cleveland, Ohio

About The Memorial
The Cleveland Metroparks developed a spectacular setting for another memorial, dedicated to Smoky the war-dog hero, of World War II.

A circular, dark-pink patio is surrounded by lawn and greenery. Already, as a sentinel at attention, stands a gleaming, aluminum flagpole, posted in the former plain of trees and grass.

An expanded parking lot, paved and marked, provides easy access to visitors. Alongside the memorial site, is a multi-purpose trail, designed for walkers, cyclists and joggers.

The Location
The Smoky and Dogs of All Wars Memorial is located on Valley Parkway, in the Rocky Reservation of The Cleveland Metroparks, Lakewood, Ohio -- 1.25 miles south of the Detroit Avenue Bridge entrance to The Metroparks.

This is going to be as appealing to visitors, as several other War Dog Memorials, located in the United States. Metroparks has 7 million visitors a year coming to the popular Rocky River Reservation.

The Dedication Ceremony
The Cleveland Metroparks held a dedication ceremy on November 11, 2005 for The Smoky and Dogs of All Wars Memorial in Rocky River Reservation.
